Editorial: Issue 1

Welcome to the first issue of Red Sun Magazine.

I think the first issue of a magazine is special. A kind of magical special. It’s the kind of special that thrills you, fires your imagination. Makes you want to read the magazine, contribute to it, be part of it.

It’s the anticipation of something new… something exciting.

That’s how we, the staff, feel about Red Sun. We hope our enthusiasm to bring you something new and exciting, something entertaining, has poured out of us and spilled onto these pages you are about to read.

In her interview, Margaret Weis is asked what advice she’d give herself on Project Overlord (what would become Dragonlance), and she answers, “That you’re going to be in for one hell of a ride.”

That sums up our experience so far with Red Sun. It’s been a blast. We are having so much fun with the magazine that the ridiculous amount of hours we put into it–in my case 12 plus hours a day, six days a  week–hardly seems like work at all.

In thirty years, we want to look back and say, “Whoa, that was one hell of a ride.”

That kind of magical special.

I hope our enthusiasm is contagious and infects you, and you will agree, reading the first issue of Red Sun was one hell of a ride.

Sincerely,

Ben Richards
